Massachusetts state law requires all public school districts to maintain a Parent Advisory Council open to all parents of students identified as eligible for special education, as well as other interested parties. In Massachusetts, children aged 3 to 21 may receive special education or related services.
The Dover Sherborn SEPAC is a volunteer, parent-run organization that serves in an advisory role to the school district on the programs and needs of all students. We meet regularly to discuss matters that pertain to the education and safety of children with special needs. [603 CMR 28.07(4)]
Our goal is to work with the Special Education Department, district administration, school committees, teachers, and other parents to improve general and special education programming, and educate one another in the process.
We also provide parents with information, community connection, and resources about children with learning differences and special needs.
